Memorial Parks

Today, we visited two memorials with a monument shaped like a pillar that tapers as it climbs. I'm referring to the 'Double Six' monument at Grace Point, Sembulan, and the 'Tugu Pahlawan' at Jln. Gaya, Luyang.

Both places share a common trait, i.e. it has a recreational area, where people can do basic workouts and a playground for kids. It's a positive contribution to society.

It's like a walk in a miniature park there at Grace Point. It's limited walking path is compensated by a pleasing green view of trees and well trimmed grasses. Though located near the busy highway, the problem of being too noisy does not arise. The park comes equipped with some of the standard exercise apparatus to supplement one's workout during jogging or running.

Others who are not of the exerting type, well, there are benches placed along some areas near the pavements where you can sit and watch others get tired. There's also a single tent with 2 benches located just above a small hill which gives you better shade.

Known as the 'Double Six' monument.

Your can begin walking / jogging / running here.

Directly below the path of taking off and landing.

Along the way, there are workout apparatus painted yellow.

The 'Knee Lift' apparatus.

A small shelter with 2 benches for relaxing.

Kids can have their share of outdoor fun too. Parents can join in.

We, personally, have a prefered liking to the 'Tugu Pahlawan' recreational park. While the monument looks much more complex, that is not the reason why we prefer this place. It is the way the surrounding is built.

The stairs, railings, concrete barriers, benches are what we personally like because it's fun to jump over them. To make things really sweet is the huge playground there. At the time we went there, it was almost noon and on weekdays. It is understandable if the area has little or no people.

A stern warning to anyone who wanders here is to beware of red ants. There seem to be a lot of these crawlies down there. Evidently they like to bite and stick their mandibles on your footwear and never let go.

'Tugu Pahlawan' - For our warriors whoever they may be.

Ahead is the main entrance.

You can choose to jump over instead of walking a straight path.

We were impressed by the size of the playground. Kids love this!
